When finding research related to child and adolescent development, I have gained many insights while reading. Research on this provides foundational knowledge for me as a future educator. My research question is, “As students develop, What factors influence optimal development in mathematics throughout the learning process?”. Focusing on the topic of development in the mathematics classroom has given me some valuable insight into my future as a possible mathematics teacher.
Some insights I gained from the research I have done so far include the importance of linguistic knowledge to make sure students stay on the right track of developments. I learned about the development of mathematical problem solving over time. I gained insights into the development of children in a mathematics classroom. I gained insights on how parents are an influential factor when thinking about how students develop mathematically. I learned about the co-development of reading and math, and how you use both of them simultaneously to increase the developmental learning of children and adolescents. A research article took on investigating how the Temporal cortex activation explains children’s improvement in math attitudes. I am learning a lot throughout this process, and I can not wait to dig deeper into really finding out what the most important factors influence optimal development in the mathematics classroom throughout the learning process.
The journey is its own reward.
