Blog Post #6/7/8/9

I have a few goals for the sophomore block experience. I will create relationships with the student in my placement. I will do this by having meaningful conversations with all of the students and learning about them as individuals. I will learn a lot of valuable information from my cooperating teacher that I can take into consideration as a future educator. I will make a long lasting impression on everyone that I encounter in my placement by professionally presenting myself. I will also keep an open mind to all of the new experiences that I will encounter. I know that it will be something that I will have to get used to, but I will use my love and passion for teaching to guide me through all of the good and bad that could come with this new experience. I am so excited to be able to have this opportunity, and I am ready to get my foot in the door to the world of teaching. I will be a sponge and absorb all of the information and experiences that I am given within my school. I am so ready to take on Sophomore Block!

I will combine my current knowledge and skills as an educator to meet students where they are while in my field experience. I will do this by using my personality and ambition because I am a person who takes challenges as an opportunity to grow within myself. I will meet students where they are at, by focusing on my previous knowledge that no student is the same. You have to adapt yourself to grasp the minds of your students. I will meet students where they are by focusing on the relationship I have with them first, and then finding what they need that gears toward their learning. All students are at different stages and places in their learning and personally. You as a teacher have to meet them where they are at and adapt your teaching to each and every student. I am excited to get to know all of the students, and be able to guide them where they need guidance in their learning. 

As I move into this new educational environment I will use the adaptive skill of challenging myself, and willingness to learn. I want to learn and have an open mind through this experience therefore challenging myself to learn more and do more within a classroom. I want to learn new things, and I want to challenge myself to apply those skills within my placement and grow my confidence in education.
